Role Overview

The Atom CPU Circuit Technology team at Intel is seeking a Digital Circuit Design Engineer to contribute to the design of full custom and memory circuits. In this role, you will operate within a dynamic environment, focused on high-performance, low-power CPU design as part of a team dedicated to advanced circuit activities.

Position Responsibilities

Key duties include designing and developing custom digital circuits for CPUs, performing schematic entry, conducting circuit simulations, and verifying functionalities while optimizing for power, performance, and area. Responsibilities further entail creating block-level DFT models, developing memory test tools, and streamlining design methodologies.

Experience Level

This position requires at least 1 year of relevant experience in a high-tech company, with an emphasis on circuit design and verification, complemented by strong problem-solving abilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom digital circuits, including memory and cache structures.
  • Conduct design tasks such as floorplanning, circuit design, and functionality verification.
  • Create and improve design flows and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design issues.
  • Optimize performance, power, and area while minimizing leakage in CPU circuits.
  • Engage in characterization and testing of memory instances.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field, along with 1+ years of experience in circuit design and fundamentals. Additionally, a Master's or PhD in the same fields, along with experience in CMOS design and digital logic optimizations, is a plus.

Education Requirements

To qualify, applicants should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Higher degrees and experience in related areas are advantageous.
