Role Summary

The CAD Engineer will join NVIDIA's Advanced Technology Group, focusing on the installation and support of foundry techfiles. This position requires providing expert debugging for design errors and the development of automation scripts aimed at enhancing productivity in custom circuit design.

Experience Level

This role is categorized as Level - Mid-Career, requiring at least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably with advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain foundry techfiles.
  • Debug design errors to ensure efficient resolution for designers and the foundry support team.
  • Custom edit foundry techfiles to meet NVIDIA design methodologies.
  • Support CAD tools used for IC design, including tools like Virtuoso and spice simulation tools.
  • Collaborate with CAD tool vendors to identify bugs and enhance tool features.
  • Create scripts using programming languages such as Perl, Cadence SKILL, and C++.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, with an M.S. preferred. A solid understanding of MOSFET device behavior, CMOS layout, and VLSI design is essential. Strong programming skills in Perl, Cadence SKILL, C++, and TCL are required along with excellent interpersonal skills for effective end-user support.

Education Requirements

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
