Role Summary

The Analog Engineer Intern will join the AMS-OPHY Central Engineering unit, focused on delivering high-speed optical and electrical connectivity solutions. The role involves working on analog interface circuits and conditioning circuits.

Experience Level

This is an internship position, suitable for candidates currently pursuing a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-speed analog to digital (ADC) or digital to analog (DAC) interface circuits.
  • Designing high-speed ADC or DAC driver circuits.
  • Creating high-speed clock conditioning circuits.
  • Implementing auxiliary circuits such as biasing and reference generation.
  • Conducting behavioral modeling for circuit design assistance.
  • Developing calibration algorithms to address circuit non-idealities.
  • Performing model analysis/development to evaluate circuit performance at the system level.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Currently pursuing a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Good understanding of analog integrated circuit fundamentals.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with signal processing fundamentals.
  • Project experience in data conversion interfaces (e.g., ADCs and DACs).
  • Experience with high-speed analog front-ends and clock conditioning circuits.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools like Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and AFS.
  • Experience with behavioral modeling in Verilog-A or System Verilog.
  • Familiarity with programming in C, Python, and Matlab in a Unix environment.

Education required: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
