Test/Vision Handler Engineer

Role Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot test handlers and automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment to support semiconductor production in the Kulim manufacturing site. The role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring product quality, and providing timely production support.

This position works within the Manufacturing department, supporting setup, calibration, fault resolution, spare-parts management and continuous improvement activities on handler and vision equipment.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities to support production and equipment reliability:

• Maintain and troubleshoot test handlers and AOI/vision inspection systems to ensure high uptime.
• Perform setup and conversion for different device packages and handlers.
• Conduct calibration and optimization to reduce jam rates, downtime and improve yield.
• Provide immediate production support and resolve equipment issues to minimize impact.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase units-per-hour (UPH).
• Manage spare parts inventory, documentation and equipment records.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to safe operations on the manufacturing floor.

Requirements

Technical skills, system familiarity and interpersonal skills required or preferred.

• Must-have: Hands-on troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical) and practical equipment maintenance experience.
• Must-have: Experience providing production support and resolving equipment faults quickly.
• Must-have: Basic computer and MES familiarity.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to ATE systems.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with handlers and vision systems such as Vitrox, JHT, ICOS, Epson, Cohu, SYNAX.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, communication and time-management skills.

Education Requirements

Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline).
