Test Operation Director
Role Summary
Lead Test Operations and Backend Manufacturing to deliver manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, and operational excellence. Responsible for meeting production capacity, quality, and KPI targets while driving automation and continuous improvement across test and backend processes.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 7 years of managerial experience in semiconductor manufacturing operations; experience in Test Operations and Backend Manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
Accountable for test and backend manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Test Operations and Backend Manufacturing teams.
- Drive manufacturing cost reduction and operational improvement programs.
- Monitor and improve KPIs: LOH, unit cost, OTD, OEE, process cycle time, and yield.
- Develop and implement automation, digitalization, and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Improve productivity and reporting efficiency through data-driven process improvements.
- Ensure facility and capacity readiness to meet production and revenue plans.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives toward zero RMA and high product reliability.
- Support AOP goals via productivity, cost-saving, and variance improvement initiatives.
- Support customer audits and maintain compliance with ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Lead, coach, and develop teams for technology growth and NPI readiness.
- Promote workplace safety, ESG initiatives, inventory optimization, recycling, and waste reduction.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 7 years of managerial experience in semiconductor manufacturing operations, preferably in test and backend.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, process improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Experience with automation, digitalization, and implementing data-driven process improvements.
- Proven leadership driving cross-functional projects and managing operational KPIs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with ISO standards, ESG initiatives, and manufacturing compliance requirements.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related disciplines.
