Job Title
Staff FPGA Engineer, Intelligence Systems
Role Summary
Join Anduril's Intelligence Systems team in Reston to design, implement, test, and bring up FPGA-based systems on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms for Intelligence Community customers. The role focuses on rapid development of digital designs, signal processing, and high-speed communications with attention to system-level integration and deployable performance.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 12+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.
Responsibilities
Work across the hardware and system lifecycle to deliver validated FPGA functionality that meets system requirements.
- Design, code, simulate, and test FPGA logic primarily for Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms.
- Participate in full design lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, board bring-up, and system integration.
- Integrate third‑party IP and validate interoperability with custom logic.
- Implement signal types including high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and signal processing (analog/digital).
- Perform hands-on hardware bring-up and debug at HDL and system level; resolve bugs found in testing.
- Ensure designs meet safety and performance requirements with traceability to system requirements.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, test, and systems teams to deliver production-capable solutions.
Requirements
Must-have skills, clearances, and experience.
- 12+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.
- Proficient in VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience with Xilinx SoC platforms; familiarity with Vivado preferred. Experience with ModelSim or Quartus Pro is a plus.
- Experience with SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
- Strong debugging skills at HDL and system level; experience diagnosing hardware/software integration issues.
- Excellent problem-solving, organization, communication, and teamwork skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Currently holds and can maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Nice-to-have: experience with safety-critical functions, FPGA interfaces and high-speed buses, and low-level firmware (C/C++) for bring-up and test.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
