Job Title

Staff Design Engineer - DEG Design

Role Summary

Design and analyze digital and analog circuits for DRAM products within the DRAM and Emerging Memory Group (DEG). The role is hands-on and covers layout, verification, parasitic-aware design, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure manufacturability, performance, cost efficiency, and reliability for new memory generations.

Experience Level

Senior role (Staff-level). No explicit years-of-experience stated.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, layout, verification, and cross-functional coordination for new product development.

  • Build, layout, and optimize memory, logic, and analog components for new products.
  • Perform parasitic modeling and support design validation, reticle experiments, and tape-out revisions.
  • Lead layout activities including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
  • Run verification using industry-standard simulation tools (for example HSPICE, Finesim).
  • Collaborate with product engineering, test, probe, process integration, assembly, and other teams to ensure manufacturability and product success.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred skills listed where applicable.

  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of CMOS circuit design and device physics.
  • Experience with industry simulation tools such as HSPICE or Finesim.
  • Understanding of logic design, state machines, and verification techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and hands-on layout/verification experience.
  • Experience with floor-planning, placement, routing, and parasitic-aware design.
  • Nice-to-have: Verilog modeling and simulation experience.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Tcl, Perl) and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience with power network analysis and layout design; background in DRAM or emerging memory technologies.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field. (Fields referenced: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering; "or equivalent experience" is explicitly permitted.)
