Senior Test Application Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Test Application Engineer will support and sustain Final Test (FT) operations in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. The role focuses on maintaining stable ATE performance, resolving production test issues, supporting test hardware and equipment, and ensuring consistent product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 3–5 years of experience in Final Test engineering or test maintenance, with hands-on production support in high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

Provide production-facing test support to maintain stable FT operations and resolve test issues affecting yield and throughput.

• Sustain and maintain ATE performance for mass production.
• Provide daily production test support and troubleshooting for yield drops, tester alarms, and test escapes.
• Perform test correlation, limit validation, and guard band verification.
• Support test hardware maintenance (load boards, sockets, cables, probe interfaces).
• Coordinate with Process, QA, and Manufacturing teams to resolve tester and handler issues.
• Support engineering change implementation (ECR/ECO) related to test.
• Assist in NPI FT handover from development to mass production.
• Support temperature testing, re-test, containment, and failure analysis activities.
• Prepare and maintain test-related documentation, reports, and Equipment/Tester OEE metrics.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and production experience required for the role.

• Minimum 3–5 years experience in Final Test engineering or test maintenance in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with ATE systems (examples: Teradyne, LTX, Advantest, Chroma, SPEA).
• Strong understanding of Final Test manufacturing flow and production operations.
• Experience supporting high-volume, high-mix manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret datasheets, test limits, and schematics.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for tester/handler issues and yield root-cause investigations.
• Good documentation practices and familiarity with engineering change processes (ECR/ECO).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related technical field.
