Sr. Staff Project Engineering Manager

Role Summary

Lead execution of UCIe and chiplet interconnect development programs from planning through tape-out. Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, verification, integration, silicon) to deliver milestones on schedule and reduce execution risk.

This role emphasizes program execution, risk mitigation, and clear stakeholder communication within Synopsys' semiconductor IP organization in Ontario.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 5+ years in technical program management or engineering program leadership in semiconductor IP, chip design, or EDA environments.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities for planning, tracking, and driving multi-team programs to delivery.

  • Drive execution for UCIe development programs from planning through tape-out, managing timelines and delivery milestones.
  • Build and maintain realistic project plans; track progress and surface risks early.
  • Coordinate program reviews and cross-functional meetings to support decision-making and alignment.
  • Resolve dependencies and remove execution roadblocks across design, verification, integration, and silicon teams.
  • Identify schedule, resource, and technical risks and drive mitigation plans with accountable stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status and emerging risks clearly to internal stakeholders at the appropriate level of detail.
  • Support customer-facing program coordination in partnership with senior leaders when required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; plus items noted as desirable.

  • 5+ years technical program management or engineering program leadership in semiconductor IP, chip design, or EDA environments.
  • Strong understanding of the SoC development lifecycle: design, verification, integration, and tape-out.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders and schedule constraints.
  • Project management fundamentals: planning, risk management, execution tracking, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to follow technical discussions closely and identify where execution risk is building.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; able to adjust detail for engineers, program leads, and executives.
  • Customer-facing program experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with UCIe, chiplet architectures, or advanced packaging technologies is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
