Job Title

Sr. Modem Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on verification of digital modem/PHY designs for low-power wireless SoCs. The role partners with design, architecture, firmware, validation, and system teams to ensure functional correctness from early design through silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Prefer 5–8 years of experience in digital design verification, with emphasis on modem or wireless PHY verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities, building test environments, and collaborating across teams to resolve issues.

  • Define and execute verification strategies for digital modem designs across key wireless use cases.
  • Develop and maintain scalable verification environments using SystemVerilog/UVM or similar methodologies.
  • Create test plans, testbenches, and stimuli to achieve functional and coverage closure.
  • Debug and analyze design issues; work with design and architecture teams to resolve root causes.
  • Track and drive functional and code coverage to ensure verification completeness.
  • Collaborate with firmware, validation, and system teams to ensure correct system behavior.
  • Support silicon bring-up and correlate pre-silicon verification with post-silicon results.
  • Improve verification methodologies, tools, and automation workflows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have:
  • Strong knowledge of digital design fundamentals and verification concepts.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM or equivalent verification methodologies.
  • Proven debugging skills and experience analyzing simulation results.
  • Familiarity with scripting for automation (Python or Perl).
  • Basic understanding of wireless communication systems or digital signal processing concepts.
  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams and supporting silicon bring-up.
  • Nice-to-have:
  • Experience verifying wireless standards such as BLE, Wi-Fi, or Zigbee.
  • Advanced techniques: constrained-random, coverage-driven verification, SystemVerilog assertions (SVA).
  • Familiarity with C/C++ or MATLAB for modeling and reference implementation.
  • Experience with mixed-signal or system-level verification and post-silicon lab bring-up.
  • Experience with low-power verification and power-aware methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering (CE), or a related technical field.
