Job Title

Senior Engineer, Memory CAD β€” Guadalajara

Role Summary

Provide CAD tool, flow, and methodology support for HBM and memory design teams at the Guadalajara Design Center. Work with layout, design, and verification groups to deploy and improve capabilities that enable mixed-signal and custom IC development.

The role focuses on operational CAD support and co-developing advanced flows and automation for transistor-level and mixed-signal memory designs.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 5+ years of direct CAD or IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day and project responsibilities include support, collaboration, and technical delivery for CAD flows and custom IC design.

  • Provide operational support for CAD tools, flows, and collateral for HBM and memory teams.
  • Collaborate with design, layout, and verification methodology teams to propose and co-develop advanced capabilities and best practices.
  • Qualify vendor tools and internally developed software releases (as needed).
  • Develop prototypes and automation to improve layout, analysis, and design flows.
  • Support mixed-signal and transistor-level custom IC tasks: logical design, custom layout, and parameterized cells.
  • Support automated place-and-route, physical design verification, ERC, and layout parasitic extraction.
  • Prepare pre- and post-layout netlists and run digital/analog circuit simulation, timing, power, and reliability analysis through tape-out and mask generation.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and knowledge for the role.

  • 5+ years of direct CAD or design experience in mixed-signal, custom IC design flows.
  • Proven experience working in technical IC design or CAD teams distributed across locations.
  • Familiarity with memory design standards (DDR3/4/5, LP3/4/5, HBM, NAND).
  • Strong practical skills in CAD tool usage, flow troubleshooting, and automation development.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience qualifying vendor tools and internal software releases.
  • Ability to develop software prototypes for IC design, layout, and analysis.
  • Experience running agile software sprints.
  • Experience applying machine learning to IC design and delivering production-grade ML applications.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; Master's or PhD preferred β€” typically in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
