Software Engineering Director - Switching/Routing, Layer 1, PHY, Kernel, Platform area

Role Summary

Lead the SDK and platform software engineering team for Marvell's Teralynx switching products, responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of embedded network software across distributed sites and cross-functional groups.

This role focuses on delivering scalable, high-quality platform and infrastructure software (Layer 1, PHY, kernel) for switching/routing products and may require eligibility to access export-controlled technology.

Experience Level

Senior — 15+ years of relevant software engineering experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

Manage engineering execution and team development for switching/platform software.

  • Lead and manage R&D engineers developing datacenter switching products and SDKs.
  • Plan, track, and deliver software projects; define goals and schedules.
  • Coordinate across architecture, QA/validation, system test, product management, documentation, and customer teams.
  • Mentor, train, recruit, and retain engineering talent; manage resource allocation.
  • Promote an inclusive, collaborative, high-performance environment.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams across multiple sites to ensure product quality and delivery.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications.

  • 15+ years architecting, developing, and launching software products or services.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or management role overseeing engineering teams.
  • Proven track record delivering complex software projects and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with embedded platform software for switching and routing products.
  • Strong technical knowledge of switching/routing systems and Layer 1, PHY, and kernel/platform areas.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and cross-site collaboration.

Nice-to-have: prior experience with SDK development for networking products, cloud/datacenter environments, or Teralynx-class products.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education, or a combination of education and practical experience as stated in the posting.
