Job Title

Senior Technical Lead MPU Linux and Platform Validation (AVV)

Role Summary

Lead a cross-functional software team to deliver baseline Linux SDK bring-up, core platform drivers, and software-centric platform validation (AVV) for a next-generation MPU platform. Responsible for enabling first-silicon bring-up, building a production-quality SDK, and driving validation and automation to achieve tapeout and release readiness.

Experience Level

Senior β€” the posting recommends ~15+ years in embedded/low-level software and platform bring-up, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

Drive architecture, delivery, and validation of the MPU software platform and lead teams across BSP/SDK, drivers, and AVV.

  • Build and lead a cross-functional software team (Linux BSP/SDK, platform drivers, validation).
  • Define execution plans, milestones, quality metrics, and release gates for baseline SDK and advanced feature ramps.
  • Own architecture and delivery of the baseline Linux platform SDK: BSP bring-up, drivers, middleware, build systems, and release packaging.
  • Lead post-silicon AVV: first-silicon bring-up, deep debug, regression closure, and software-driven sign-off criteria.
  • Validate DDR, high-speed I/O (PCIe/USB/HDMI), networking/TSN, power management/PRCM, and platform stability under target workloads.
  • Establish and maintain automation and CI pipelines for pre/post-silicon validation (smoke, regression, performance, stability).
  • Collaborate with architects, hardware, DV/PD, IP vendors, and customers to align roadmaps and enable ecosystem adoption.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

  • Extensive embedded/low-level software experience, including Linux kernel, device drivers, and BSP bring-up.
  • Hands-on SoC bring-up and debug experience (JTAG, trace, emulation) and validating complex subsystems (DDR, PCIe, USB, HDMI, power management).
  • Strong knowledge of networking/connectivity stacks (Ethernet/Linux networking, TSN) and common embedded interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO).
  • Proven experience in first-silicon bring-up, root-cause debug, and driving silicon readiness decisions.
  • Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash) and familiarity with CI/CD practices for build, test, and validation pipelines.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers, run design reviews, and own end-to-end delivery.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience maintaining or upstreaming Linux kernel/device-driver code and using Yocto/Buildroot or similar build systems.
  • Experience with multimedia/display stacks, vision/AI software stacks, industrial Ethernet protocols, or real-time networking.
  • Familiarity with virtual platforms/VDKs, SoC modeling, or digital-twin workflows.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
