Job Title

Senior Software Engineer, CAD Tool Development - Circuits

Role Summary

Develop and maintain CAD/EDA tools and software that improve productivity and robustness of custom circuit designs. Work within a multi-functional team supporting pre-silicon and post-silicon data analysis, timing and VLSI design flows.

The role covers the full tool lifecycle: data storage design, UI, testing, deployment and maintenance while collaborating with backend engineers and other design automation teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include engineering, integration, and support of CAD tools and related infrastructure.

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain EDA/CAD tools for chip development.
  • Work on projects involving silicon data analysis, process variation, timing analysis and VLSI design analysis.
  • Own full tool lifecycle: data storage, UI, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to support and improve development infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with other DA teams to integrate software solutions and share best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; separate nice-to-have items listed below.

  • 3+ years of relevant software/tool development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in multiple languages (C++, Tcl, Python, or similar scripting languages).
  • Proven experience developing tools including GUI, database management, testing and deployment.
  • Familiarity with AI tools to improve productivity and impact.
  • Good interpersonal skills, proactive, quick learner, and ability to work across teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with EDA tools (ICC2, Design Compiler, PrimeTime, Innovus).
  • Previous work with VLSI, ASIC design flows, or silicon data analysis.
  • Technical presentation skills and experience working across multiple organizational levels.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
