Senior RF Probe Electrical Test Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop and execute RF probe electrical test methodologies for semiconductor devices. Operate probe stations and RF test equipment to validate device performance, support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp, and work with cross-functional teams to improve quality and yield. This is an onsite position in Richardson, TX.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typically requires 5+ years of relevant RF electrical test experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement RF probe test plans, procedures, and test fixtures for devices and modules.
- Operate and maintain RF test instrumentation and probe stations to perform electrical characterization and validation.
- Analyze test data to identify performance trends, root causes of failures, and opportunities for process and test improvements.
- Collaborate with design, process, and product engineering teams to optimize validation, quality, and yield.
- Lead troubleshooting of complex test issues and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Support NPI and ramp-up activities with robust test strategies and test automation where applicable.
- Document test results, generate reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols in the test environment; mentor and train less experienced staff.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of RF electrical testing experience in semiconductor or wireless device manufacturing (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and related RF test instrumentation.
- Practical experience operating probe stations and performing electrical characterization and validation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root-cause analysis and yield improvement.
- Proficiency with test automation and scripting (SCPI, Python, LabVIEW, Instrument Macro) preferred.
- Experience with yield analysis, failure analysis, and statistical process control (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present technical results.
- Onsite presence required in Richardson, TX (expected five days per week).
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; must be a US Person to work on US Government contracts.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field required. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field is preferred. The posting allows "or an equivalent amount of education and experience."
