Job Title
Senior Principal Engineer, Systems Design/Architect
Role Summary
Lead systems-level product definition and architecture for integrated high-speed and precision signal-chain products targeted at industrial applications. Work across chiplet partitioning, high-speed CMOS/BiCMOS processes, and multi-discipline teams to take products from concept through development and release.
Work involves customer-facing collaboration, test/eval correlation, and translating customer requirements into architectures and design guidance. Travel expected ~10%.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system architecture, product definition, development support, and customer interaction:
- Define system-level product architecture and partitioning (including chiplet strategies) from customer requirements.
- Recommend processes, digital algorithms, feature sets, and interfaces to meet product goals.
- Lead architecture and solution definitions with design teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to datasheet development and participate in design reviews to ensure system goals are met.
- Collaborate with test/eval teams to characterize silicon across customer use cases and debug issues to root cause.
- Engage with customers, FAEs, and application teams to support technical questions, proposals, and business development.
- Release validated system designs to production and develop design collateral such as simulation models and architecture guidelines.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities; education details are listed under Education Requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with system engineering for high-speed converters and precision signal chains.
- Experience with high-speed digital interfaces, including SERDES, and familiarity with transmitter/receiver design.
- Strong foundation in analog circuits and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Proven ability to interpret measurement data, debug silicon issues, and correlate simulation with lab results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to customers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet aggressive schedules; strong analytical skills for complex data sets.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with chiplets and semiconductor IC process considerations (CMOS, BiCMOS).
- Experience developing architecture-level digital algorithms for system-level performance.
Education Requirements
Minimum: BSEE plus 7 years of relevant experience. Preferred: MSEE (or equivalent) plus 7 years, or PhD plus 5 years. Equivalent practical experience considered per job posting language.
