Job Title

Senior NVM Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Validate, characterize, and optimize embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) technologies for NXP products across automotive, microcontrollers, security, ML, IoT and secure transactions. Work on application code development, validation, IP debug, characterization and optimization to meet performance and reliability targets.

Collaborate in a cross-functional team with device, design, verification, product/test and reliability engineers; contribute to technology development, IP definition and customer support, and build associated test infrastructure and methodologies.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 5+ years as a Validation, Verification, DfT, or Test Engineer.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and executing validation activities and enabling NVM readiness for product integration.

  • Develop and run application code and validation tests for NVM technologies.
  • Perform IP/device debug, failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
  • Characterize and optimize NVM performance and reliability to meet targets.
  • Develop test infrastructure, methodologies and automation for validation.
  • Use automated testers and lab equipment to collect and analyze data.
  • Support customers and product teams with application integration and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to IP definition and identify patent opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with device, design, verification, product/test, and reliability engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and professional skills; preferred items are listed as nice-to-have.

  • Must-have: 5+ years working as a Validation, Verification, DfT or Test Engineer.
  • Must-have: Proven teamwork, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills; ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical skills and experience performing failure analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with memory IP or NVM technology.
  • Nice-to-have: Software development experience in C/C++, Ruby, Python or LabVIEW.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience using automated testers (Ultraflex), NI equipment and lab bench instrumentation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with JMP statistical software.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
