Job Title
Senior Full-Chip Physical Design & Integration Lead
Role Summary
Lead technical ownership of full-chip physical design and integration for advanced SoC/ASIC projects. Work across RTL, verification, floorplanning, place-and-route, timing closure and signoff teams to deliver silicon that meets performance, power, and area targets.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 7+ years of relevant physical design and full-chip integration experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning and driving full-chip physical implementation and integration activities.
- Define and execute full-chip physical design strategy: floorplan, power grid, clocking, and I/O planning.
- Coordinate place-and-route, timing closure, congestion and IR-drop analysis through to signoff.
- Integrate macros, IP blocks, and third-party hard blocks; resolve cross-domain integration issues.
- Collaborate with RTL, DFT, verification, and package teams to ensure correct interfaces and deliverables.
- Mentor engineers, review design deliverables, and drive technical decisions to meet schedule and quality targets.
- Identify risks, propose mitigation plans, and report status to program leadership.
Requirements
Minimum technical skills and experience expected for immediate productivity in the role.
- Proven experience leading full-chip physical design and integration on complex SoC/ASIC projects.
- Strong knowledge of P&R flows, STA, clock-tree synthesis, floorplanning, power integrity and signal integrity concepts.
- Hands-on experience with industry EDA tools for place-and-route, timing analysis, and signoff flows.
- Ability to debug cross-team integration issues and coordinate multiple engineering groups to resolution.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; experience mentoring and leading technical teams.
- Nice-to-have: experience with advanced process nodes, low-power design techniques, and design for test (DFT).
