Senior Failure Analysis Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Failure Analysis Engineer leads root-cause investigations for semiconductor products at package and die levels, supporting reliability and product debug for advanced technologies including AI-related products. This role works with design, process, product and reliability teams to identify failure mechanisms and drive corrective actions.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Minimum 7 years of hands-on failure analysis experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Accountable for planning and executing failure investigations and validating hypotheses through test and analysis.

• Perform failure analysis at physical package and die levels to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead electrical fault isolation using advanced techniques and tools.
• Develop and execute bench-level test applications to reproduce failures and validate hypotheses.
• Interpret CAD layouts, schematics, and design documentation to support root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, process, product, and reliability teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Support failure analysis for advanced technology nodes and AI-related products.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on failure analysis experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Proven experience with physical package-level and die-level failure analysis.
• Strong expertise in electrical fault isolation techniques.
• Experience developing and validating bench tests for failure reproduction.
• Proficient at reading and interpreting CAD layouts and schematics.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with products or projects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
