Job Title

Senior DFT Engineer - LPU

Role Summary

Design and implement design-for-test (DFT) features for high-performance ASICs, focusing on SCAN, MBIST, JTAG and related test infrastructures. Work on DFT timing, ATPG and MBIST vector generation, and collaborate with physical design, STA sign-off, post-silicon bring-up, and CAD methodology teams to ensure testability and silicon quality.

Experience Level

Senior level; the posting requests 5+ years of industry experience in DFT for high-performance ASICs.

Responsibilities

Key duties include implementing DFT architectures, enabling test coverage, and supporting silicon bring-up and test optimization.

  • Define and implement SCAN, MBIST, JTAG and debug structures for SoC/ASIC testing.
  • Drive ATPG and MBIST test vector creation and translate test patterns for silicon.
  • Develop DFT timing constraints and coordinate with Physical Design and STA sign-off to achieve timing closure in DFT mode.
  • Support post-silicon bring-up: load and debug test patterns on silicon and resolve failures with ATE.
  • Collaborate with CAD/methodology teams to introduce AI-driven optimizations and improve DFT implementation efficiency.
  • Analyze yield and test data to guide test optimization and defect learning.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience.

  • 5+ years of DFT experience on high-performance SoC/ASIC designs.
  • Practical experience with SCAN/MBIST and test-generation tools for large SoC/ASIC flows.
  • Domain expertise in ATPG, test pattern translation, scan compression, MBIST, LBIST, and IEEE 1500.
  • Familiarity with ATPG Streaming SCAN Network (SSN) implementations and UDFMs such as Cell Aware and Small Delay Defect.
  • Experience debugging DFT test sequences on ATE and resolving silicon issues in the lab.
  • Solid understanding of RTL-to-GDSII flows and formal equivalence checking.
  • Strong Tcl and Python coding skills.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work cross-functionally.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
