Safety Enablement Engineer
Role Summary
Improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of workflows for safety product development across engineering teams. Act as a technical bridge between functions by building automation, integrations, and methodologies that standardize safety engineering work.
The role combines hands-on development with architectural responsibilities: implement scripts and integrations, and define frameworks and best practices used across the organization.
Experience Level
Senior β 10+ years of relevant experience in the semiconductor or related high-tech industry.
Responsibilities
Deliver tooling, automation, and process improvements that enable consistent safety engineering workflows across teams.
- Design, implement, and improve methodologies, processes, and toolchains for safety engineering.
- Develop automation solutions using scripting and APIs to reduce manual effort and increase productivity.
- Ensure interoperability and integration between engineering tools and platforms.
- Leverage AI-based approaches where appropriate to improve efficiency and data utilization.
- Build automated reports and dashboards for status tracking and project transparency.
- Create and maintain clear documentation consolidating insights from multiple systems.
- Support teams adopting improved workflows; act as technical enabler and advisor.
- Perform security-conscious work and support tasks related to security certifications when required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor or related high-tech industries.
- Strong expertise in tooling, automation, and engineering workflows.
- Proven scripting and software development skills (e.g., Python, Java) for automation and integrations.
- Experience with engineering tools and platforms such as Jira, Git (GitHub/Bitbucket), requirements/ELM tools, system modeling tools, and safety analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of configuration management environments and scalable automation architectures.
- Ability to operate both as a hands-on developer and as an architect defining methodologies and best practices.
- Experience working cross-functionally across diverse tool landscapes and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on efficiency, automation, and scalability; security-conscious approach to tasks that may involve certification scope.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with AI tools or automation platforms (e.g., Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate).
- Background in functional safety environments.
