RTL2GDS Application Engineer (Hybrid)
Role Summary
Customer-facing applications engineer supporting RTL-to-GDSII implementation for SoC and IP block designs. You will provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, work with Synopsys R&D and Sales, and help customers adopt synthesis and place-and-route flows.
Based in the UK, you will join the UK Technical Sales Group and engage with customers across the UK and Europe to resolve complex implementation issues and influence product development.
Experience Level
Mid-level / Mid-Career β typically 6+ years of hands-on experience in digital design implementation.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership to customer design teams and internal stakeholders across the RTL-to-GDSII flow.
- Deliver pre-sales and post-sales technical support for synthesis and implementation tools (DC NXT, Fusion Compiler or equivalents).
- Analyze customer design objectives and constraints; propose and implement flow and methodology solutions.
- Troubleshoot timing, power, and area issues in production environments and provide actionable fixes.
- Collaborate with R&D to escalate field issues and influence product roadmap and feature development.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product overviews, and hands-on training for customer teams.
- Work with Sales to identify technical opportunities and help convert them into business growth.
- Travel regularly to customer sites and the Munich office to support critical engagements.
