R&D Engineering Senior Staff Engineer

Role Summary

Senior technical role focused on translating customer field issues into HFSS product features and delivering advanced electromagnetic simulation support for customers and field teams across Japan and APAC.

You will work closely with regional field application engineers and R&D to write requirements, validate features with reproducible tests, produce training and documentation, and provide expert troubleshooting for complex simulation problems.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include gathering customer requirements, defining features, and providing technical leadership for HFSS-related workflows.

• Write and refine requirement specifications for HFSS features based on customer engagement and field feedback across APAC.
• Build subject-matter expertise in domains such as SI/PI for chip-package-board, mixed-signal/RF components, or antenna system design.
• Collaborate with regional field application engineering teams to gather, clarify, and prioritize customer needs for the product roadmap.
• Develop training materials, example workflows, and technical documentation to accelerate field team onboarding and customer support.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to peers and field teams for complex simulation challenges and edge cases.
• Use Python to automate simulation workflows, validate features, and create reproducible test cases supporting product development and customer deployments.
• Deliver technical work independently with moderate direction and proactively flag risks or blockers.

Requirements
