Project Engineer Management (SoC or IP Technical Project Manager)
Role Summary
Lead release planning and execution for semiconductor IP products, coordinating engineering, product management, verification, and business stakeholders to deliver on schedule.
Work within a PMO-style environment to manage cross-product dependencies, improve release processes, and increase predictability across product lines.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 7+ years of program or project management experience in a semiconductor or EDA company.
Responsibilities
Own release planning and cross-functional coordination from kickoff through delivery.
- Lead end-to-end release planning and execution for multiple semiconductor IP products.
- Act as central point of contact between engineering, product management, design verification, and business stakeholders.
- Identify, escalate, and communicate risks, blockers, and critical issues to enable executive decision-making.
- Drive problem resolution using data, clear framing, and tradeoff discussions.
- Manage and improve release processes, tooling, and practices to reduce friction and increase predictability.
- Coordinate cross-product dependencies, interfaces, schedules, and quality gates.
- Develop training and onboarding materials with the PMO to scale best practices.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience.
- 7+ years of program or project management experience in semiconductor or EDA environments.
- Direct experience managing release planning, schedules, and content for hardware or IP products with multiple cross-functional dependencies.
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams without direct authority across engineering, product, and business functions.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor IP development workflows, including design, verification, integration, and release processes.
- Experience identifying, framing, and escalating technical and schedule risks to executives with appropriate context and urgency.
- Comfort working in ambiguity and making progress when requirements are incomplete or priorities shift.
- Nice-to-have: experience with program management tools and practices for tracking schedules, dependencies, and deliverables across distributed teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is specified.
