Product Engineer
Role Summary
Own the product engineering lifecycle for mixed-signal and power integrated circuits, focusing on ramp-up, yield optimization, sustaining, and production qualification. Work with test, design, manufacturing, QA, and supply chain teams to ensure products meet quality and customer requirements.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Tasks are performed under supervision and the role is suitable for early-career engineers (typical 0β3 years of experience).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting product ramp-up, defining production limits, and investigating production issues.
- Own product engineering activities from definition through mass production for power and mixed-signal ICs.
- Support ATE test strategy setup and chip characterization activities.
- Define and maintain production test limits and screening criteria based on ATE, qualification, and characterization data.
- Analyze production and test data to identify yield and quality issues and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Test Engineering, QA, Design, Assembly, and Supply Chain to resolve production problems.
- Prepare and review characterization reports and specification compliance matrices.
- Participate in qualification activities and data reviews; investigate production excursions and RMA cases.
- Define SYL/SBL limits to balance product quality and yield.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis methods and tools (statistics, DOE, Spotfire templates).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and communication abilities for effective data-driven product support.
- Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
- Programming skills for data analysis and automation (examples: Python, C#, VBA, R).
- Understanding of statistical data analysis techniques.
- Intermediate English proficiency, written and spoken.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
- Willingness to work under supervision during initial stages and learn manufacturing/test processes.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in semiconductors, test engineering, electronics production, or data analysis.
- Knowledge of electrical parameter measurement techniques and hands-on electronics experience.
- Project coordination or project management experience.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., TIBCO Spotfire / Spotfire Analyst).
- Understanding of IC manufacturing flow, technology, and methodology.
Education Requirements
BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
