Job Title
Principal SRAM Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join Marvell’s Central Engineering Foundational IP team in Burlington, VT to design, verify, and characterize high-performance custom SRAM for advanced semiconductor products. The role leads SRAM cell, array, and peripheral circuit development with emphasis on performance, power, and area optimization.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 10+ years of hands-on experience in digital and transistor-level circuit design, especially custom memory design in advanced CMOS nodes.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, characterization, and collaboration across design and validation teams.
- Lead design and supervise layout of custom memory cells, arrays, and peripheral circuits focused on PPA (performance, power, area).
- Perform circuit simulations across process, voltage, and temperature corners to verify functionality and timing.
- Implement custom schematics and cross-section entry using Cadence Virtuoso and related tools.
- Characterize SRAM and develop views for modeling and validation.
- Partner with hardware and silicon validation teams for silicon evaluation and model-to-hardware correlation (MHC) and root-cause analysis.
- Develop and improve design methodologies, flows, and automation scripts to increase productivity and quality.
- Analyze, document, and present design and characterization results.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in digital/transistor-level circuit design with focus on custom memory.
- Experience with SRAM architectures such as 6T, 8T, multi-port, and pseudo-2-port.
- Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso, SpectreX, Quantus QRC parasitic extraction).
- Familiarity with statistical analysis methods for yield and robustness assessment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting silicon bring-up and validation.
-
Nice to have: experience in custom DRAM design, knowledge of physical design processes and tools, strong communication and independent project management skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience in relevant engineering roles may be considered.
