Job Title

Principal Power Module Quality Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Define and execute quality management and qualification strategies for next‑generation SiC and GaN power modules across product development, manufacturing and customer support. Lead cross‑functional failure analysis, reliability activities and customer quality engagements to ensure product robustness and compliance with industry standards.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 5 years' experience in power module quality or equivalent engineering roles.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and implement qualification approaches and quality management strategies for power module products (SiC, GaN).
  • Correlate failure mechanisms with reliability measures and implement containment and corrective actions.
  • Manage failure analysis requests and coordinate cross‑functional teams (design, reliability, manufacturing, test).
  • Serve as primary quality contact for customers; lead complaint handling and prepare customer‑facing reports and presentations.
  • Implement and enforce quality procedures and standards (JEDEC, AEC‑Q, AQG 324, Nexperia and customer‑specific).
  • Identify quality gaps in product creation processes and drive corrective actions and process qualifications.
  • Prepare initial inputs for PCNs and support follow‑up activities; document data and evaluations for reliability, yield and FMEA.

Requirements

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with power module technology and assembly processes.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor physics and device applications, preferably in SiC and GaN domains.
  • Familiarity with international quality standards and policies (e.g., AEC‑Q101, AQG 324).
  • Experience with measurement methods, device testing environments and statistical data analysis.
  • Proficiency with standard software tools and structured problem‑solving techniques.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, influence stakeholders, resolve conflicts and travel within the EU (typically <15%; up to ~30% if based in Catania).

Education Requirements

PhD or master’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical discipline.
