Principal Field Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Field Applications Engineer within Arm's sales organization supporting partners in Taiwan. Acts as the technical lead for pre-sales activities (licensing, design-win, IP deployment) and as the technical account liaison for post-sales support provided by Applications Engineering.
The role engages partner engineers and decision-makers to drive adoption of Arm IP and software enablement, informs product and ecosystem direction, and represents Arm in regional technical forums and customer engagements.

Responsibilities
Accountable for technical pre-sales, partner engagement, and regional ecosystem development. Key responsibilities include:
- Act as the technical lead to support licensing, design-win, and IP deployment discussions.
- Collaborate with government-facing teams and regional partners to shape ecosystem development aligned with Arm's roadmap.
- Represent Arm's technology vision at regional events, technical forums, and customer workshops.
- Provide technical consultancy to customers, primarily in data center and automotive sectors.
- Drive adoption of Arm IP portfolio: compute subsystems, GPUs, system IP, and software enablement tools.
- Identify deeper collaboration opportunities with IC design houses, ODMs/OEMs, and cloud partners.
- Provide regular insights on competitive landscape and regional market trends to business unit and sales teams.
- Serve as the local technical liaison for regional strategic engagements and R&D; coordinate post-sales support activities delivered by Applications Engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proven experience in digital design, SoC development, software architecture, or application engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of Arm CPU/GPU/subsystem IP, development tools, and SoC integration processes.
- Demonstrated customer-facing pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to relocate and be based in Malaysia for the duration of the assignment.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in regional assignments or ecosystem development projects.
- Knowledge of regional data center trends, automotive electrification, and AI compute workloads.
- Established network within local IC design, OEM/ODM, or government-linked tech ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Southeast Asia technology market dynamics.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
