Principal Engineer — Design Verification, Ethernet
Role Summary
Lead verification efforts for Ethernet IP and subsystems within the Compute and Custom Solutions organization. Define testbench architecture, create verification plans from design specifications, and drive verification projects to completion.
Work closely with design and cross-functional teams to debug complex issues, mentor junior engineers, and improve verification methodologies and automation.
Experience Level
Senior — 13+ years of relevant experience in the Ethernet domain.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and develop verification testbench architecture and components.
- Create verification plans from design architecture and implementation specifications.
- Implement UVM-based environments, tests, and verification IP.
- Develop verification code in SystemVerilog; integrate C/C++ test components where required.
- Develop automation and utilities using scripting languages (Perl, Python, Tcl).
- Own verification of blocks or subsystems and drive projects with complex scope to completion.
- Debug functional issues across verification and design domains.
- Mentor and guide verification engineers; coordinate cross-functional efforts with design teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong SV-UVM expertise and deep understanding of verification methodologies.
- Proven verification capabilities covering the complete verification cycle.
- Knowledge of SoC architecture and Ethernet protocol operation.
- Programming experience in SystemVerilog and C/C++.
- Scripting experience in Perl, Python, or Tcl for automation tasks.
- Strong debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Demonstrated ability to own and drive verification projects and deliverables.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience mentoring teams.
- Nice-to-have: high-speed Ethernet experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering. The role expects 13+ years of relevant experience in the Ethernet domain.
