Job Title

Mixed Signal Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The engineer will develop and execute verification plans for mixed-signal logic IPs, ensuring functionality, timing, and power behavior meet microarchitecture specifications. The role collaborates with digital and analog architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams within Intel's Central Engineering Group to validate IPs used in ASIC/SoC and foundry products.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3+ years with a Masters degree or 4+ years with a Bachelors degree in ASIC/SoC verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, and improving verification for mixed-signal components.

  • Perform functional verification of mixed-signal logic components and analog behavioral models.
  • Create IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification environments to achieve comprehensive coverage.
  • Define and run system simulation models; analyze power and timing to identify issues.
  • Debug presilicon failures via replication, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Drive technical reviews of test plans and verification proofs with design and architecture teams.
  • Maintain and improve verification infrastructure, methodologies, and tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, RTL, and physical design teams to verify complex features.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

  • 34+ years of ASIC/SoC verification experience (per Experience Level above).
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog, UVM, and Verilog for mixed-signal verification.
  • Experience with EDA simulators and debug tools such as Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium/JasperGold, or Mentor Questa.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Tcl for testbench automation.
  • Familiarity with protocols and multi-clock-domain mixed-signal designs (e.g., JTAG/IJTAG/CRI/APB).
  • Expertise in constraint-random test generation, root-cause analysis, and complex debug workflows.
  • Preferred: experience with mixed-signal IP validation, low-power techniques (UPF, clock gating), formal property verification tools, and version control systems (Git, Perforce, CVS).
  • Preferred: strong collaboration and communication skills for multi-disciplinary teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, VLSI Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum experience expectation: 4+ years with a Bachelors degree or 3+ years with a Masters degree.
