Manager, MTB GQ Ops
Role Summary
Lead a technical reliability operations team responsible for validating and qualifying product reliability. Define reliability requirements, resolve reliability issues, establish qualification standards, and manage operational throughput to support product qualification and QA release.
Coordinate capacity, sampling, and disposition decisions with engineering, Test MFG, planners, and QA/product coordinators.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of relevant experience in equipment, manufacturing, engineering, or management/leadership roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include team leadership, operational management, and cross-functional coordination:
- Manage and develop a high-performing reliability operations team; set objectives, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct performance appraisals.
- Plan and prioritize reliability sampling, qualification campaigns, and test readouts; coordinate capacity and shared resources with area planners and Test MFG.
- Define and enforce quality and reliability requirements; apply industry qualification standards to new products.
- Lead root-cause analysis for reliability issues and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee operational metrics, budgets, process improvements, and continuous cost/quality reduction efforts.
- Collaborate with PE, QA/product coordinators, and engineering teams on product disposition and QA hold releases.
- Ensure workplace safety: perform inspections, investigate events, and promote safe work practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications:
- Proven management and leadership experience in manufacturing or operations.
- Practical knowledge of semiconductor component assembly and surface-mount processes.
- Familiarity with industry qualification methods and standards (e.g., JEDEC, AEC, IPC).
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Advanced spreadsheet and data-management skills; comfortable with data entry in various systems.
- Experience managing operational throughput, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Computer, Industrial) or any related field β or equivalent practical experience.
