Role Summary

Lead and execute PDK design enablement projects for silicon photonics, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver timely, production-ready PDK releases that meet customer and internal requirements. The role combines project management, semiconductor process integration knowledge, and hands-on photonics design/workflow support.

Experience Level

Senior — preferred 5+ years of relevant experience in silicon photonics, semiconductor process integration, or design enablement projects.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include managing PDK enablement projects and supporting silicon photonics R&D and production readiness.

• Lead PDK design enablement projects and coordinate timelines, deliverables, and cross-department dependencies.
• Manage photonic design layout compilation, DRC flows, and mask tape-outs to enable project starts and execution.
• Apply semiconductor process integration and silicon photonics expertise to resolve technical issues and guide development.
• Plan and execute multiple concurrent projects with clear priorities and milestones.
• Respond to technical inquiries and improve PDK workflows and efficiency.
• Coordinate with other departments to troubleshoot and drive operational improvements.
• Mentor team members to improve productivity and help achieve departmental KPIs.
• Perform duties in accordance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

• Must-have: Practical knowledge of optical science and photonics technology.
• Must-have: Project management skills and track record of planning/executing multiple technical projects.
• Must-have: Understanding of semiconductor process integration and its impact on PDK and design workflows.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with electrical and optical measurement of photonic devices and systems.
• Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience in silicon photonics fabrication and mask tape-out processes.
• Nice-to-have: Strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, ownership mindset, and ability to prioritize.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or Ph.D. in photonics, electrical engineering, physics, or a closely related technical field is required. The posting does not state an equivalent-experience substitute.
