Job Title

IP Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and optimize digital IP blocks for integration into custom SoC projects. Work with cross-functional teams to define microarchitecture, deliver RTL, and ensure timing, power, and area targets are met for IP-to-SoC handoff.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8+ years of hands-on digital design and RTL development experience (as reflected in the job requirements).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include implementation, verification support, and quality assurance for IP blocks:

  • Develop and implement RTL (Register Transfer Level) code and run simulations for IP blocks.
  • Define and refine IP architecture and microarchitecture to meet system requirements.
  • Optimize logic for power, performance, area, and timing; ensure physical implementation readiness.
  • Debug RTL and resolve test failures; investigate and fix functional and timing issues.
  • Perform front-end quality checks including CDC, RDC, LINT, synthesis, and timing closure.
  • Support SoC teams during IP integration and verification; address integration issues.
  • Review and validate verification plans; implement corrective actions for discrepancies.
  • Drive quality assurance for IP-SoC handoff and integration processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education details summarized separately):

  • Strong RTL design skills and production experience with SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with low-power design methodologies and UPF low-power coding.
  • Practical experience with CDC, RDC, LINT, synthesis flows, and timing closure.
  • Knowledge of protocols such as PCIe, AXI, AHB, and APB.
  • Expertise in clock gating, clock domain crossing, and power gating techniques.
  • Experience debugging RTL, writing verification testbenches, and using scripting (e.g., TCL).

Nice-to-have:

  • Proven collaboration across functional teams and strong technical communication skills.

Education Requirements

Degree and equivalent-experience options were listed in the original posting: a Bachelor's in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with ~8+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s with ~6+ years; or a PhD with ~4+ years. Preferred degrees include Master's or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
