Job Title

Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

As an analog/mixed-signal design intern, you will support design, simulation, and verification of analog mixed-signal integrated circuits, focusing on op-amps, low-power regulators, and silicon characterization within a cross-functional engineering team.

This is a hands-on student role contributing to real projects and lab verification under mentorship.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for current M.S. students in Electrical Engineering or related fields; prior analog IC coursework or project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include circuit design, simulation, lab verification, automation, and team collaboration.

  • Design, simulate, and verify analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits.
  • Design and analyze operational amplifiers, including stability analysis and compensation techniques.
  • Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters to optimize energy efficiency.
  • Perform silicon characterization, lab measurements, and debugging to verify performance versus specifications.
  • Write and apply scripts (Python, Perl, Tcl, Shell) to automate design flows and data analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and collaborative problem solving.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills required for the internship.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in analog IC design, operational amplifier theory, and low-power design principles.
  • Must-have: Ability to use scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl, Shell) for automation and data analysis.
  • Must-have: Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team; eager to learn and adaptable.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with silicon bring-up, lab instrumentation, or prior hands-on IC characterization and debugging.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field. The posting notes hourly pay varies by highest level of education completed. No alternative-degree or "equivalent experience" language was provided.
