Job Title

Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

This is an internship on an analog and mixed-signal IC design team focused on power- and IoT-related integrated circuits. The intern will contribute to design, simulation, verification and lab characterization of analog/mixed-signal blocks.

The role emphasizes hands-on circuit design (op-amps, low-power regulators), silicon debug, and scripting to automate workflows.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. Intended for current graduate students (M.S. level) or similar early-career candidates.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to design, simulation and verification of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits.
  • Design and analyze operational amplifiers, including stability analysis and compensation techniques.
  • Develop low-power circuits (e.g., LDOs, buck converters) to meet energy-efficiency targets.
  • Perform silicon characterization and lab-based debugging to verify performance against specifications.
  • Create and apply scripts (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate design flows and data analysis.
  • Participate in team design reviews and collaborative engineering activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Proficiency in analog IC design and operational amplifier theory (stability and compensation).
  • Experience with low-power design principles and power-regulator topologies (LDOs, buck converters).
  • Practical ability to perform silicon characterization and debug in the lab.
  • Familiarity with scripting for automation and data analysis (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
  • Strong communication skills, team orientation, and willingness to learn.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Related technical fields are acceptable. The posting notes hourly pay varies with highest level of education completed.
