Job Title

Innovative ASIC Design Engineer β€” RTL/Verilog

Role Summary

Design and implement ASIC digital blocks with RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog. Work within a silicon design team in Austin to research, develop, and deliver components and subsystems for tape-out.

The role focuses on RTL design, functional verification support, and integration with synthesis/timing flows to meet performance, area, and power targets.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include collaborative RTL design, verification support, and implementation activities:

  • Develop and maintain RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog for digital ASIC blocks.
  • Perform functional verification and support verification engineers; work with simulation environments.
  • Prepare code and constraints for synthesis; collaborate on synthesis and timing closure.
  • Debug RTL/simulation failures and contribute to silicon bring-up support.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional team meetings.
  • Document design, test plans, and change history for handoff and reviews.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and helpful qualifications.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL design.
  • Must-have: Proficient programming skills in C, C++, or Python for tooling and testbench work.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with ASIC design flows (synthesis, timing analysis, simulation).
  • Must-have: Strong debugging skills in simulation and RTL environments.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with verification methodologies/tools (UVM, assertion-based verification) and hardware bring-up.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior involvement in tape-out cycles and cross-functional silicon delivery.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in an engineering discipline (electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related technical field) is required per the posting.
