Innovative ASIC Design Engineer (RTL/Verilog)

Role Summary

Design and implement ASIC RTL and participate in the full silicon design flow for high-performance electronic components. The role focuses on RTL development, verification collaboration, and integration with synthesis and backend teams.

Position is based in Austin, TX; no travel is required.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Architect, write, and maintain RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog for ASIC modules.
• Develop and integrate IP blocks into larger chip designs.
• Collaborate with verification, synthesis, timing-closure, and physical-design teams to meet performance and area targets.
• Create and maintain scripts/tools using C, C++ or Python to support design and verification tasks.
• Debug design issues using simulation and waveform analysis; support bring-up and silicon validation.
• Produce design documentation and design-for-test (DFT) support as required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience (education requirements are summarized below):

• Proven RTL design experience using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Experience with ASIC design flow and common EDA tools.
• Proficiency in scripting or software development with C, C++, or Python for design automation and test.
• Ability to work across design, verification, and backend teams to deliver tapeout-ready designs.
• Strong debugging skills in simulation and hardware validation contexts.

Nice-to-have: synthesis and timing-closure experience, FPGA prototyping, or prior experience with complex SoC designs.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (for example, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) is required.
