IC & System Validation Engineer (f/m)

Role Summary

Work in the Smart Front end & Interfaces product line on millimeter-wave and high-speed digital IC validation. Join a lab team in Caen to define and execute silicon characterization and system validation in collaboration with RF architects, design, test and product teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level — candidate should have several years of practical experience in RF/mmWave or high-speed digital validation, hardware debugging and test automation.

Responsibilities

Deliver validation strategies, build lab tools and test automation, execute measurements and coordinate cross-functional debug and reporting.

• Define validation strategy for mmWave and high-speed digital circuits.
• Design and build hardware tools for silicon validation, manual and automated.
• Develop and maintain test software and automation (Python).
• Create and execute characterization and validation plans with Design, Test and Applications teams.
• Perform IC parametric and functional bench-level measurements and support design debug.
• Analyze results, document test cases, report findings and follow up on issues.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders: Design, Test, Product, Program Management, FA, etc.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes; nice-to-have items listed last.

• Practical experience with RF/mmWave or high-speed digital test methods and measurement techniques.
• Hands-on hardware debugging and troubleshooting experience in lab environments.
• Experience programming test software and automation, notably Python.
• Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured, analytical way of working.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• High degree of autonomy, self-motivation and ability to deliver results.
• Nice-to-have: knowledge of signal processing and AI.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or comparable field; equivalent practical experience accepted.
