IC Layout Designer Technician

Role Summary

Support role in the High-Performance Analog division responsible for creating and maintaining IC CAD layout files, performing verification, and producing fabrication/product documentation to move IC designs from concept through manufacturing and test.

Works onsite with Design, Process, and Software Engineers to ensure compliance with design guides, layout rules, and internal procedures.

Experience Level

Support-level; typically requires approximately 1+ years of semiconductor industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include IC layout, verification, documentation, and handoff to manufacturing.

• Collaborate with Design, Process, and Software Engineers from concept through schematic, layout, and manufacturing release.
• Perform design-rule checks and layout verification.
• Create and update fabrication and product drawings using tools such as ADS, AWR, Cadence, and AutoCAD.
• Generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
• Update documentation based on input from Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Review BOMs and drawings during transfer to Manufacturing to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• At least 1 year of experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Ability to manage timelines, work efficiently, and produce high-quality deliverables.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Eligible to work on U.S. Government contracts: must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
• Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

• Experience with ECAD/PCB/CAD tools such as ADS, Altium, Cadence, AWR, or AutoCAD.
• 1+ years of CAD design experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education Requirements

Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent relevant experience.
