Hardware Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Lead pre- and post-silicon functional validation for Automotive MCU SoCs. Own validation strategy, test planning, coverage and team execution while coordinating cross-functionally with design, DV, analog, firmware and operations.
Experience Level
Senior-level; requires 10+ years of silicon validation experience with leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning, leading, executing and reporting on silicon validation activities.
- Lead SOC validation team and drive validation and debug to closure.
- Develop and implement detailed validation test plans, coverage targets and methodologies.
- Create test cases, test environments and automation scripts; build tools for test automation and diagnostics.
- Execute pre-silicon and post-silicon functional, performance, stress and stability tests.
- Perform hands-on debug using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, traffic generators/analyzers) and platform tools.
- Coordinate with Operations for bench screening and high-volume ATE functional screening.
- Document test plans, results and validation coverage; report status to stakeholders regularly.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 10+ years in silicon validation with leadership experience on SoCs or mixed-signal/digital ICs.
- Hands-on debug of communication peripherals, memory interfaces and system-level validation.
- Experience with pre-silicon platforms and C programming.
- Script-based test automation experience (Python) and strong general scripting skills.
- Experience developing automation tools, web-based utilities or test frameworks.
- Familiarity with lab debug tools and ATE screening processes and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
B.Tech. or M.Tech. in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
