FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver FPGA-based hardware solutions to accelerate ultra-low-latency trading systems. Work end-to-end on FPGA architecture, implementation, simulation, testing, and deployment while collaborating closely with quantitative researchers and strategy developers.

Experience Level

Senior-level β€” requires 8+ years of FPGA or ASIC architecture, design, and development experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with quantitative researchers and strategy developers to translate requirements into hardware designs.
  • Architect and design FPGA solutions, including hardware selection and key functional blocks.
  • Implement solutions from board-level logic to API integration and deploy to production environments.
  • Work with trading teams and strategy developers to iterate and improve hardware performance and latency.
  • Develop and execute simulation and testing strategies for verification and reliability.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical qualifications:

  • Must-have: 8+ years of FPGA or ASIC architecture, design, and development using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Preferred: Experience with high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet and PCIe.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with high-level software languages (C#, C, Java).
  • Prior experience in trading or finance is helpful but not required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, or foreign equivalent.
