Role Summary

Design and implement FPGA logic for high-speed wafer-level semiconductor test systems, focusing on timing generators, embedded pattern generators, signal formatting, vector memory, and error-capture functionality. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to validate designs in simulation and on target hardware.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires approximately 5+ years of large, high-speed FPGA design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include implementing FPGA blocks for test controller systems and supporting bring-up and verification.

• Design fine-grained timing generators inside the FPGA to meet precise timing requirements.
• Design signal formatting blocks within the Test Controller FPGA.
• Design and implement multiple Embedded Algorithmic Pattern Generator (APG) cores and their interfaces to Pin Electronics I/O.
• Implement internal Vector Memory and Error Capture RAM (ECR) blocks and data-transfer logic to external memory.
• Validate RTL via simulation and perform hardware bring-up when boards are available.
• Work with hardware and software teams to support driver development and system integration.
• Maintain and update design documentation and records.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• 5+ years of experience in large, high-speed FPGA design.
• Strong Verilog RTL design skills.
• Experience with wafer-level semiconductor testing.
• Experience designing and using internal PLL circuits (phase-locked loops).
• Design experience for Embedded Algorithmic Pattern Generators (APGs) and APG-to-pin-electronics interfaces.
• Solid understanding of timing constraints and timing closure practices to ensure consistent build-to-build timing.
• Experience with RTL simulation and hardware validation; ability to support bring-up and driver integration.
• Ability to produce and maintain technical documentation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
