Job Title

Firmware Engineer - Verilog, Python (On-site/Hybrid)

Role Summary

Develop and maintain firmware using Verilog and support system integration, verification, and troubleshooting for embedded systems. The role is based in Lexington, MA with a hybrid on-site arrangement.

This position supports projects requiring cleared personnel and disciplined engineering practices.

Experience Level

Mid-level; typically requires around 5 years of applicable firmware or digital design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include firmware implementation, integration support, and resolution of field or lab issues:

  • Design and implement firmware in Verilog for FPGA/ASIC targets.
  • Develop and maintain test automation and support scripts using Python.
  • Support system integration and testing activities; perform debugging and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and test engineers to identify and resolve defects.
  • Document designs, test procedures, and troubleshooting results.

Requirements

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • About 5 years of relevant firmware or digital design experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing firmware in Verilog.
  • Proficiency with Python for test automation and tooling.
  • Familiarity with ISE design suite or equivalent FPGA toolflows.
  • Experience with system integration, verification, and embedded-system debugging.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.
