Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Work on design-for-test (DFT) architecture and verification for Graviton-family semiconductor platforms within Annapurna Labs at AWS. The role focuses on DFT architecture design, test pattern development, verification, and supporting silicon bring-up for compute-class chips that power AWS infrastructure.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” engineering role suitable for candidates with roughly 3+ years of relevant semiconductor DFT experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing DFT features, creating test flows, and supporting verification and bring-up:

  • Design and implement DFT architectures for complex SoCs and platform chips.
  • Develop test and debug patterns to ensure manufacturability and field diagnostics.
  • Perform static timing analysis across DFT modes and validate timing closure impacts.
  • Verify DFT logic and components using gate-level simulations and verification environments.
  • Support silicon bring-up, device diagnostics, and failure analysis on hardware.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, verification, firmware, test) to integrate DFT solutions.

Requirements

Required and preferred technical skills and experience. Degree information is listed separately under Education Requirements.

  • Must-have: 3+ years experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.
  • Hands-on experience with scan insertion tools and ATPG flows.
  • Experience with gate-level simulation and static timing analysis for DFT modes.
  • Familiarity with verification platforms and methodologies (UVM testbench, FPGA/emulator usage).
  • Scripting ability for automation and flows (Perl, Tcl).
  • Practical experience supporting silicon bring-up and device diagnostics.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog, Tessent Streaming Scan Network (SSN), FPGA prototypes, and advanced verification/emulation setups.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. Related technical fields (e.g., Computer Engineering/Science, Physics, Mathematics) or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on semiconductor/DFT experience are acceptable.
