Job Title
DFT Engineer (CE-64000845)
Role Summary
Perform design-for-test (DFT) planning, implementation, verification, and pattern delivery for mixed-signal audio SoCs. Work within the mixed-signal audio development team to insert and verify memory BIST and scan, improve test coverage, and support silicon bring-up on ATE.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Prefer candidates with approximately 2+ years of relevant ASIC/DFT industry experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Define, implement, and review DFT features in collaboration with design teams.
- Generate, insert, and verify Memory BIST (MBIST) logic.
- Perform scan insertion and ATPG pattern generation.
- Develop and review DFT timing and equivalence checking constraints.
- Verify MBIST and ATPG patterns with gate-level simulations.
- Identify and close test coverage gaps; perform test cost planning and analysis.
- Deliver MBIST and ATPG patterns to product test group and support silicon bring-up on ATE.
Requirements
Must-have technical requirements and skills; preferred items listed separately.
- Hands-on experience in ASIC DFT design and verification.
- Experience with industry DFT EDA tools (examples: FastScan, TestKompress, TetraMAX, Test Compiler).
- Experience with scan insertion, ATPG, and MBIST flow implementation and verification.
- Experience verifying test patterns with gate-level simulation and improving test coverage.
- Experience with test cost planning and delivering patterns to production test teams; support ATE silicon bring-up.
Preferred / Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Understanding of low-power test techniques and test architectures.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python, TCL) and automation/flow development.
- Familiarity with synthesis, static timing analysis, and timing constraints.
- Experience debugging and root-causing silicon issues; strong written and oral communication.
Education Requirements
MSEE with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or BS with relevant industry experience.
