Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

As an ASIC Verification Engineer at Cognysync you will design and execute verification environments and tests to validate ASIC-based trading systems used in high-frequency trading. You will collaborate with ASIC design engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure functional correctness, performance, and timely delivery of production-quality hardware.

Senior β€” requires approximately 8+ years of ASIC verification experience, preferably in high-frequency trading or financial technology.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining verification strategies, building verification environments, and driving verification activities to closure.

  • Develop and implement ASIC verification plans to validate functional correctness and performance of trading algorithms.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable verification environments using industry-standard methodologies (e.g., UVM).
  • Write test cases, create testbenches, and run functional and regression test suites.
  • Perform code and functional coverage analysis and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with ASIC design engineers to debug failures and resolve design and timing issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define verification strategies, schedules, and delivery criteria.
  • Evaluate and adopt verification tools, scripts, and methodologies to improve productivity and quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of ASIC verification experience, preferably in high-frequency trading or financial technology.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog for ASIC verification.
  • Experience with UVM or equivalent verification methodologies.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Perl, or TCL) for automation and test infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with ASIC synthesis, timing closure, and hardware debugging.
  • Experience with synthesis tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).
  • Knowledge of high-frequency trading concepts, market microstructure, and trading algorithms.
  • Familiarity with FPGA design and verification.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
