Role Summary

Lead design and delivery of advanced-node ASIC physical implementation programs and manage a multidisciplinary physical design team. The role involves end-to-end responsibility from RTL handoff through sign-off, collaborating with front-end, verification, product engineering, and customers to meet schedule, PPA, and quality goals.

Responsibilities

Accountable for technical leadership, program delivery, and team development in physical design.

  • Lead end-to-end physical implementation of test chips and customer designs across advanced nodes (2nm–7nm).
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of ASIC physical design engineers; set technical direction and engineering standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution with front-end design, verification, and product engineering from RTL to GDSII.
  • Plan projects, allocate resources, manage budgets, and track schedules to meet customer and organizational objectives.
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, report status, and ensure delivery quality.
  • Optimize design flows and sign-off processes using Synopsys EDA tools to achieve target PPA and timing closure.
  • Drive continuous improvement in methodologies, static timing analysis (STA), and sign-off practices.

  • Must-have: Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring engineering teams and driving technical programs.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with Synopsys EDA tools and sign-off methodologies.
  • Must-have: Experience in project management: resource planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Must-have: Strong communication and collaboration skills for internal and external interactions.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience delivering test chips and direct customer-facing program management.
