ASIC Digital Verification Principal Engineer
Role Summary
Senior verification engineer responsible for designing and implementing verification environments and test plans for Interface IP protocols. Work on a verification team that delivers Interface IP products and collaborates closely with design and architecture groups to ensure correctness and quality.
Experience Level
Senior (Principal). Typically 7+ years of ASIC digital verification experience or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement verification environments for Interface IP protocols.
- Develop and maintain verification IP (VIP) and testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Create and execute detailed test plans and regression suites for complex ASIC designs.
- Perform functional coverage analysis and drive coverage closure.
- Collaborate with design and architecture teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs.
- Use simulation tools (e.g., VCS, ModelSim) to validate designs.
- Mentor and guide junior verification engineers; promote best practices and process improvements.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Extensive ASIC digital verification experience with Interface IP protocols such as PCIe, CXL, DDR, or Ethernet.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
- Experience with simulators such as VCS or ModelSim.
- Strong digital design and verification fundamentals and debugging skills.
- Proven ability to mentor or lead junior engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with verification automation, CI systems, and advanced coverage-driven verification strategies.
- Experience improving verification flows and verification IP reusability.
