Job Title

Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and productize machine learning and deep learning algorithms for semiconductor inspection systems in the LS-SWIFT algorithms group. Work spans research, prototyping, and deployment of computer vision and image-processing solutions used in high-volume wafer inspection.

The role is part of a multidisciplinary algorithms team building AI-enabled metrology and inspection products for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Experience guidance provided by the employer: PhD with 0 years related experience; Master's with ~3 years; Bachelor's with ~5 years.

Responsibilities

Primary technical and delivery responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, test, and debug complex ML and DL algorithms for image analysis and defect detection.
  • Invent and prototype new image-processing and computer-vision approaches; iterate prototypes toward production readiness.
  • Train, validate, and optimize models for deployment in product environments.
  • Implement and maintain production-quality code using object-oriented and functional programming techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical results clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Contribute to product integration, performance tuning, and system-level testing.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or image processing.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with common deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience training ML/AI models that have been deployed in a product or production-like environment.
  • Must-have: Ability to design model architectures from scratch and modify loss functions and training procedures.
  • Must-have: Proficient programming skills and experience with object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with semiconductor inspection, metrology, or imaging hardware and real-world production constraints.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience leading projects from research to product delivery.

Education Requirements
