Job Title

Analog/Mixed Signal Engineer

Role Summary

Design and validate analog and mixed-signal circuits for CMOS hardware products. The role contributes to schematic and layout development, pre-silicon simulation, lab validation, and tape-out support within a small hardware engineering team.

Experience Level

Mid-level

Responsibilities

Primary engineering tasks and day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Design analog blocks such as comparators, op-amps, references/bias generators, LDOs, filters, switched-capacitor circuits, and data converters.
  • Design and layout of high-speed analog circuits including frequency dividers, oscillators, and PLLs.
  • Perform comprehensive circuit simulations (PEX, Monte-Carlo, corner analysis) and top-level mixed-signal simulations for pre-silicon validation.
  • Develop and review layouts with attention to reliability, layout effects, and electromigration mitigation.
  • Support tape-out verification including DRC, ERC, and LVS checks and fix iterations.
  • Execute lab testing of mixed-signal circuits and characterize performance using signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Collaborate with system, digital, and verification engineers to integrate analog blocks into mixed-signal designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Proven experience designing a range of analog blocks (comparators, op-amps, references/bias, LDOs, filters, switched-cap, converters).
  • Experience designing and laying out high-speed analog circuits (frequency dividers, oscillators, PLLs).
  • Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal concepts: noise, linearity, stability, low-power and low-noise techniques.
  • Knowledge of reliability and layout effects (including electromigration) and mitigation strategies.
  • Hands-on lab experience testing mixed-signal circuits with common RF/analog instruments.
  • Comprehensive Cadence simulation skills including PEX, Monte-Carlo, and corner analysis.
  • Experience supporting project tape-out verification: DRC, ERC, LVS.
  • Experience with pre-silicon validation and top-level mixed-signal simulations on modern CMOS processes.
  • Preferred: strong programming skills in Python and C.
  • Preferred: experience with I/O design including ESD and latch-up considerations.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
